The Insufficiency of Reason
Edwards rejects the power of reason actually to induce from itself first principles of a system of truth but does not deny its capacity to discern truth when presented with it. He says, therefore, reason determines truth by things which reason determines to be the properties of truth. When these properties are present, the thing presents itself to us as truth. When they are absent, we reject the truth of the proposition. Reason can interpret and synthesize data. The faculty of reason receives the data given from whatever source and organizes it into genera. One may use reason, or the word reason, to describe their opinion or prejudice which they maintain apart from evidence. It doesn't establish abioc against information
