The Origins of the Voynich Manuscript
Bacon had a reputation as something of a wonder worker or a wizard. He conducted alchemy experiments and he speculated on the idea of a flying machine. In 1240s, in a couple of his major works, Bacon just straight up described a recipe for making gunpowder - seemingly out of nowhere.
