The Angel of John's Life

When John sleeps, the angel walks long, winding paths through the city. She has grown weary too, that dirt has found its way into her somehow. Unspoken blasphemies poke against her insides like shards of stone. Her task is only to inspire, to help him create. Though she would not tell him so, she is as much John's slave as she is the Lord.
