The Risks of a Financial Crisis in the Office Real Estate Market

Commercial real estate as a category is very complex and broad so we do have to remember that but particularly on the office side if you look at the major office rates like Vornado or Boston properties. You can see that their share prices are mostly hitting 52 week lows. The Fed could be essentially at some point maybe this year maybe next year forced to choose between letting the parts of the commercial real estate market blow up and reducing rates. I think the markets will probably force them to make that choice through the banking sector it could be through something else But commercial real estate is an actual problem. It's going to be with us for months so just be prepared.
