Mrs Arbethnot and Mrs Wilkins Stared at Each Other
Mrs Arbethnot and Mrs Wilkins sat together under a wisteria in the park. They were talking about her husband, who she thought was very handsome. She then said: 'Why don't we try to get it? Why not just sit here and say how wonderful?' The two women looked at each other with an interest that would have been expected at a party. But they couldn't go home without having put out a finger for help. And so one of them whispered back: 'Get it,' she repeated. "We'll go on doing this for years and years"
