How to Pray Effectively in the Scriptures
Most of the disappointment in prayer comes from not wanting God, but just wanting things. We've got to move from praying with our eyes closed and Bibles closed to pray with our eyes open and our Bibles open. Prayer is the act of asking God to do what he has already promised to do. And finally, transforming prayer is Spirit-led because we often don't know what to pray.
