A genawite association study is done in a very large sample of people. You can use that set of correlations to add up information about their genetics into a single number. This really clunky polygimic score, this adding up all these nogenetic variants into one number, is as strongly correlated with things like whether or not you graduate from college as family income is. So we end up with this really gross variable that's calculated entirely from your d and a that we don't know how it works.
