The Rise and Fall of Ellen DeGeneres

In 1992 she's cast in a sitcom called Lori Hill. It was kind of flopping major because it was canceled after only four episodes. And they cast her in their new pile of ABC which is called These Friends of Mine. After the first season the show named Change from these Friends of Mine to Ellen. So now you know comes the coming out episode in April 1997 an episode airs on Ellen where Ellen's character comes out as a lesbian to her therapist who's played by over Winfrey. She was the first gay lead of a television show at this time.
