The Oxfordian View of Shakespeare's Plays

Edward Devere fits more perfectly who many people believe Shakespeare should be. As a commoner, William Shakespeare simply didn't have the kind of access required to inject his plays with such knowing inside jabs at specific courtiers. The biggest knock against the Oxfordian thesis is that Devere died in 1604, and new works by Shake Spear continued to be written until 1613. For the Oxfordians, the lack of historical evidence proves just how good the conspiracy of silence actually was.
