Barry Gordy set up Joe Bet publishing pretty early on, and he didn't realize his big payday forward until later in 1997. He sold it for $132 million for just for half of it. And then he sold the rest of it for something like $80 million in 2004. That dwarfs whatever he got for Motown itself.
