The Importance of Phenomenality in Experimental Philosophy
The idea was to examine whether people would treat all fundamental, phenomenal states in the same way. So if it's true that people understand this as such a thing as phenomenality, right? Then you would expect them to treat everything from seeing red to feeling anger to feeling pain to feeling disgust to smelling the banana in the same manner. That's really the target of our project. We decided to just do very, very simple work. You know, it was the early days of experimental philosophy. It was as simple as it can get.
