Sepsis and Septic Shock
The conference established the diagnostic criteria septus as a documented orsuspected infection. These were categorized as general, inflammatory, hemodamic, organist function and tissue profusion variations. Most importantly, it madetit placed emphasis on the infectious source. Septic shock is a subs te subset of sepsis in which this function is associated with a much greater risk of mortality than a sepsis alone.
