Introduction
Danny Hefang is co-author of the book American Exceptionalism and American Innocence, a people's history of fake news from the Revolutionary War to the War on Terror. The main theme of the book for us was to highlight how American exceptionalism and American innocence are really the most effective evils when it comes to the ideological apparatus of the US state. They provide a foundational framework from which the ruling class is able to impose its hegemony in so many ways.
