The Probability of Human Extinction
The probability of human extinction to day or this century, is almost certainly way higher than it's ever been before in our 300 thousand years history. There are also various other cognitive biases that i think prevent individuals from taking seriously something like human extinction. For example, there is a cognive bias called psychic numbing. And so maybe for the masses, you know, seeing things in this kind of contextof, like the traditional story arc of the apocalypse gives meaning to it all. It makes, it makes it seem a little less dire in its own way. I feel like that is consistent with what i was saying before about hope for a better world.
