Is TLR Eight a Detector of Pathogens?
The paper is by Vite Hernong on TLR eight. It says, although you may already have seen it, I'm always amazed by the variety of ways the innate immune system detects the presence of pathogens. The cool thing about nucleic acid sensing TLRs is they seem to work in endosomes. Part of that is proposed to be proteolytic alterations to the protein structure.
