The origin of this begins in a book, actually a nonfiction book from 2002. Meg Meeker advocates teaching teens to postpone sex as long as possible and when they don't, to re-flower themselves as secondary virgins. The idea that Ally McPill was ever controversial is just adorable. I found excerpts of it online. It's like an actual joke. But then what's really interesting is so this book is not like a particularly huge best seller. There's probably one or two teen sex panic books that come out every year.
