The Importance of Trigger Warning
The DSM-5 definition is exposure to actual or threatened death, serious injury or sexual violence. For it to be a trauma trigger as they define it, it has to elicit uncontrollable responses which could range from sweaty palms to total hysteria. "I don't need to say trigger warning in order to warn you," he says. But I still understand why people say trigger warning anyway, even when everyone has already been warned.
