Alzheimer’s genetics, Omega-3s and Brain Health - Dr. Hussein Yassine, MD
The Brain Health Revolution Podcast
Is There a Relationship Between Omega-3s and Alzheimer's?
The evidence is mixed. Some populations may be able to tolerate an omega-3 deficient diet and others may not, he says. The brain consumes approximately 4 milligrams of VHA per day based on isotope stugnol. That's a really tiny fraction. So you can probably get that even if you don't eat seafood. In this population, omega-3s may have a different response than the people who are more intellectually engaged in their communities. It has to be looked at from a pattern with respect to how it works.
