There is a misperception out there and some camps that Reagan was completely inattentive to details. He would ensure that it happened no matter what his most valued and otherwise highly capable cabinet secretaries and advisors thought. And while my book is overall a very favorable assessment of the Reagan record, as we know, I at times will be critical of he was not always a very good manager.
