Nick Paton Walsh: I don't understand how Erdogan has managed to, or the mechanisms through which he's been able to stimulate the economy. He says international investors are usually happy with an authoritarian government that is running the economy well. But if you get an authoritarian leader like Erdogan, who has very particular destructive ideas about how to run the economy, they're the authoritarians and no one can actually push them from going on the course that they want to go even as that drives the country into the ground,.
