How to Make Your Audio File Loud

I used to put it on literally everything. It's the easiest solution like to make something loud. The album's a little bit different this time because I got someone to mix it. But all the old stuff was just on the old headphones. And when you do a mix, like on your mix bus, you just using Ableton limiter? There isn't a mix bus. I just put the limiter on the master.
