Aristotle's Virtue Is Not Intellectual Knowledge

For aristotle, this picture is far too intellectualist. As we've seen, he certainly believes that ethical action requires some kind of cognitive process. But citilian virtue is more like a kind of rational discernment or perception. It's down to my ingrained habit which enables me to make the right choice. I will take pleasure in doing what is right, since it is what i am used to. It is second nature. The virtuous man enjoys and chooses the mean between extremes as a matter of course. While the vicious man has ingrained habits for making the wrong oices.
