The Son of Man in the Gospel
This is the first use of the expression son of man in the gospel. The term is a somewhat enigmatic one, and perhaps it's a challenge not just to slot jesus into an existing slot. In response to a disciple who asks first to bury his father and then to follow christ, says, follow me and leave the dead to bury their own dead.
