The Cost of Care
I feel that it may be callous, but I can do most for people near me. When we get into helping people in a land we don't fully understand, we might assume there's corruption and our money will just cause more harm than benefit. The cost-effectiveness of helping the poor is so much greater that we can do much more. Our dollars go vastly further if we spend them through an agency that is helping people in the developing world. After all, we have more than a billion people in the world who live on the purchasing power equivalent of a dollar 25 per day.
