Is the Supply of Electricity Getting Worse in the Winter?
Each year the situation gets worse because more thermal tan nuclear power stations are closing and we're replacing them with wind. If it's not windy, and we've had extended periods of low wind throughout july and august this year, then we will struggle to meet demand. And have we had any close calls? We've had three occasions this summer when national grid warned that we might run out of electricity. In the winter demand is so much higher that if we had the same situation in winter, it would be much closer. It could be looking at rationi at that point heve,.
