Dug, the Vice-Consul of the US, Was in the Middle of a Civil War in 1939
In 19 forty seven China was in the middle of a civil war between nationalists and communists. The state department needed eyes and ears throughout china to see what the soviet union might be up to. Dug's exact duties are a little bit vague, but we know he buried scientific instruments that measured how much minerals were in the ground. He also befriended a local cossack fighter who shared dugg's hatred of the communists trying to take over china.
