The Importance of Understanding Religion in an Academic Way
No religion is a homogenous monolith. No religion exists out there independent of our interactions with it. Arguably in research and public discussions, we should quote, start from Muslims rather than from Islam. What I'm trying to do with this video is not to overturn your view on what a religion is completely but instead to lay as a foundation for future discussions. It's one of the keys to understanding religion in an academic way.
