What's the Difference Between Hellenic and the Alexandrian?
Kaufman: In the Alexandrian, there's absolutely no question what that is. Theoretic is this abstracted offspring which is separate from either the de-iniscan or the Apollinian. He says it's not uncommon to distinguish the Alexandrian period of Greek literature from the immediately preceding Attic period. Kaufman: Notice the Hellenic transitions to the Alexandrian with the death of tragedy.
