Salespeople at high in luxury goods stores are infamous for treating most customers in an aloof or even rude way. When i first learned how common this is, it struck me as not only obnoxious, but also a terrible business practice that must be costing companies a fortune and lost sales. But what does the research tell us about this? The research tells us that it can often increase sales, that a lot of tmes. And i think this works specifically for lacin prestige oriented luxury goods. I do not think this would work more generally.
