The Life and Times of Eric the Elder

Eric married a woman named Theo Hild and settled into life as a farmer in the northwest region of Iceland. Eric seems to have become a man of standing at this time, but in 980 he would find himself in a situation not dissimilar to what had befallen his father 20 years earlier. The result was that Eric was either banished from the area or he elected to leave voluntarily. He moved his family to the island of Oxney, which is in a fjord in the west of Iceland.
