Barefoot running increases ankle and tendon risk, but decreases knee risk. You can't go barefoot five times a week because after one day your feet will be so sore you'll know all about it in the shower. It created a new weakest link, your skin, which enforced you to train slowly enough that muscles, ligaments, joints, tendons got more time to adapt. So if you're vulnerable in part of the body, maybe you move it to B, maybe you're better off in A... But again, I think Matthew has had his problems with foot pain reduced by going barefoot.
