The Role of Social Capital in Remote Work
When the pandemic hit and everybody was forced to work remotely, people who already had significant social capital embedded into their work fared pretty well. But now we're starting to see these huge seismic gaps with feelings of disconnection because they didn't have that social capital already in place. The feeling of connectedness when me and you are able to have a moment where like you get me and you're asking me questions to make me feel like you really care or you're displaying empathy, or we're sharing something that we can really smile and connect on all of that happens in the back part of our brain, totally different region. So what happens is when people are working fully remote, oftentimes it
