The First Few Minutes Can Make or Break an Interview

The first few minutes can make or break an interview. It's certainly a case of ensuring that you start off with something gentle and make sure that they're relaxed. And it very much is dependent on the topic, obviously. If it's a celebrity chat, it's quite a different feel to if it's an interview like I did for my book where someone's recounting their trauma. But I think if I've had the chance to meet them beforehand and had conversation with them before the interview, it's definitely ensuring that I have their trust.
