The Opportunity for Incumbents to Compete in the Ecosystem
The number of people who know how to train large models and the cost of a flop goes down, right? And so I think there's just a lot of incentive in the ecosystem for additional players to compete. There may be certain types of companies that are vulnerable, but the reality is if a incumbent is already doing something and they're quick to integrate it, then it works great. The one area that may be really interesting is almost like there's probably room for a new private equity approach where if you can radically decrease costs for people, heavy businesses by using LLMs as like a replacement for certain types of work, or at least in augmentation.
