The main story, at least in the pile, it seems to be that Malady is murdering the touched. And we certainly are led to understand that she herself has been touched. But what is her turn? I mean, we see her being loaded into a van to be taken to an insane asylum. So we understand that she may or may not be actually insane because at this time period, if a husband just had difficulty controlling his wife, it was very easy to just simply have her locked up.
