Most summer burgers are just going to be coming a huge, extruded mound of flesh from Costco. So I think all burgers need to be hammered. And if you're going to hammer burger, then a smash burger makes the most sense because there's no temperature. The medium rareness of the burger does is not what makes it delicious. It is the combination of that umami from the my artifact, the salt, the fat, a little acidity from ketchup.
