He has a new book, which is just coming out here in england, called liberalism and its discontents. i think that vlademir puten is really at the centre of a kind of global anti liberal a campaign waged by both authoritarian great powers like russian china, but also by a number of populistes that have arisen in o different democratic ries. And i think it also points to this kind of authoritarian tendency among a lot of people on the extreme right, you know, in our democracies.

Francis Fukuyama is a political scientist and public intellectual, most famous for his 1992 book The End of History and the Last Man which has helped to define how we understand contemporary history. His new book is called Liberalism and its Discontents.
