The Apocrypha and the School of Canterbury

In the Middle Ages, it's very common to have books of homilies. They're really, they were copied a lot, which means they're more likely to survive. And one of the things that you find is that they were taking the Old Testament pseudopigrapha and incorporating them into their homiletic works. The Apocrypha in the Anglo-Saxon homoletic tradition was something like this.
