Vision Through Distinction
Jonas: Jonas points out something that I think has been in the background of a lot of our conversation, which is the idea that vision involves a distance from what we are seeing. And it really sets up this possibility of neutralization as well as this possibility of theory objectivity, right? Because he says that related to this possibility for theorizing, the theory practice distinction that comes up in vision is also the possibility of objectivity. We only get objectivity through sight, not from the other senses for him. That's how we get freedom.
