And chesterton smells in this a sort of utopianism which was not immune to some races tendencies. He saw these rock paintings as primitive child drawings before humanity graduated to its european status of the twentieth century. But instead, chesterton, along with indigenous commentators upon those paintings to day, approach them with deep reverence.
