The Danger of a Single Story of What a Woman Would Be
There are multiple stories about how Jesus addresses things. I'm struck by the woman caught in adultery and how his focus is on where's everybody else? Do you know what I mean? He doesn't pander to the culture of the day, which somehow forgets that a two person act is not one person's responsibility. Joanna Susanna and Mary, these women of means, these women's influence who have complicated relationships. They'd encountered Christ. And as so, they were willing to deal with the complexity,. And Jesus was willing to have them along.
