In texas there were a number of huge game ranches where the owners had brought over exotic african wildlife that was endangered in africa. The ranchers could get paid big bucks by hunters who wanted to come and kill one of these exotic antelope but then well-meaning people put pressure on congress said it's terrible for hunters to be killing these animals they should not be killed.
