Is Machine Learning a Good Idea?

This could be applied to everything in the medicinal world, but also even more generally. The problem of anti-microbial resistance is projected to cost a hundred trillion US dollars by 2050. Industry doesn't do much because there's a market failure, which you'd be long to explain. And they don't have any incentives to really do the right innovations for this. So I think academics need to get into these things.
