Theodosius and the Roman Empire

Gratian was betrayed into their hands and unceremoniously executed. He fled with his entourage south to Lyon, but for some reason he lingered in the city which allowed Maximus' men to catch up to him. Next week we will find at least one man who was not so ready to discard his loyalty to the ruling dynasty: Emperor Theodosius.
