The History of Communion

Gregory the Great, or a sixth century, late five hundreds of hope and mission minded. He did some good things in terms of the church with its music and his pastoral teaching but also real superstitious stuff. Gregory wanted mission work to be done so he put priests in these monasteries. And soon, like in Luther's time, churches would have a main altar and they'd have a dozen side altars. It really took off on steroids there and then it worked its way out with parishes.
