Calvinists have dominated the web, the internets, and have caused this resurgents by doing a really good job putting their information out there in a very easily digestible way to understand it. There's a good reason that the first 400 years of christian history never taught these kinds of sociological perspectives. Even if faith is something that you are responsible to do, even if it's your responsibility, doesn't mean it merits anything. Ga, even people who ask for forgiveness don't deserve forgiveness. If they did, then why did jesus need to die? It doesn't make any rational sense at all.
