Macbeth and Banquo
Macbeth becomes increasingly aware that the prophecy is at this stage incomplete. Banquo who is becoming suspicious of Macbeth has a short soliloquy in which he gives voice to his belief that the weird sisters prophecy was fulfilled by Macbeth's acting most foully. Even if one were watching this play for the first time I think most of us would begin to grow concerned about Banquo safety. There is still his half of the prophecy waiting to be fulfilled but there is a space between what has been prophesied and what hasn't been prophesied causing some anxiety.
