Tears for fears uses a very similar harmonic idea and yet another completely different style to convey the same kind of suspended sound. This is an exceedingly minimal melody just in terms of melodic composition and the number of notes used. The majority of it is just three notes. There's a B and an F sharp above the B and an A right below the B and that puts Kurt right at his vocal break which is a really nice place to be vocally for a guy with his kind of voice. He floats so delicately up to that F sharp to your life. Every time he hits it it's really nice.
