I think for me, he mentions at the beginning how he kind of defines phonics and phonemes and graphines. I'm not sure as a classroom teacher you would get much more from that bearing in mind that was the audience that he wrote this for. So it's been a while since I've read Chris's book myself but I'm happy with how he has you know defined phonemes. And then to your respect if he wants to.
