The Importance of Connecting With Society in Music Education

After about 100 episodes, I actually presented on this very topic in New York for the New York State School Music Educators Conference. It's more than anything the podcast has focused me to do what I'm really the best at: teaching kids and teaching band music. And we had an eighth grade trumpet player who arranged a video game that he played over if you've ever played it. He like arranged all the themes into a cute medley for a fun multiplayer game. Yeah. There is a connection that you can't make unless you try.
